InterSections is a site-specific project that enables exploration of the layers of New York City history using your mobile phone. Stickers bearing mobile barcodes are installed in public spaces, and can be decoded using a camera phone to download a historical photo of that very location. This mobile interface allows users to compare the historical image with the current view of the location, thereby gaining greater understanding of the layers of history and change inherent to the city.
